What happened?
SpaceX successfully launched the Starlink Group 10-50 mission on a Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida, on 5 July 2026 at 10:50 UTC. The batch of Starlink internet satellites was delivered to low Earth orbit, and the flight was declared a success.
Starlink is SpaceX's broadband megaconstellation, delivering low-latency internet to users worldwide from satellites orbiting at roughly 550 km altitude. Group 10-50 adds another tranche of spacecraft to the network, which already numbers more than 7,000 operational satellites.

What was the payload?
The payload was a batch of SpaceX's flat-packed Starlink v2 Mini satellites, which stack inside the Falcon 9 fairing and dispense simultaneously in orbit. Each v2 Mini carries more capacity than the earlier generation and uses argon-powered Hall-effect thrusters to raise itself from the deployment orbit to its operational altitude of about 550 km. Once positioned, the satellites join the wider Starlink constellation, which SpaceX operates as the largest satellite network ever built.
After deployment, the newly released spacecraft are briefly visible from the ground as a bright chain of lights — the so-called Starlink train — before they spread out and climb to their final orbital slots.
What about the booster?
The Falcon 9 Block 5 first stage is designed for reuse, with SpaceX targeting rapid turnaround across its fleet. On Starlink missions, the booster typically executes a droneship landing in the Atlantic Ocean roughly eight and a half minutes after liftoff. Booster reuse is central to SpaceX's cadence: the company has flown individual Falcon 9 first stages more than 20 times each, and reuse underpins the launch rate that lets SpaceX deploy hundreds of Starlink satellites per month.
