›Does the widget use an iframe or JavaScript?

It's a plain <iframe> — a single line of HTML. It adds no JavaScript, no external scripts and no dependencies to your page; nothing runs in your site's own context.

›What visitor data or analytics does it collect?

None. The widget runs no analytics, trackers or fingerprinting and collects no visitor data. It cannot see or store anything about your visitors.

›Does it set cookies?

No. The widget sets no cookies and uses no local storage, so it triggers no cookie-consent obligation on your side.

›Does it display advertising?

No. There is no advertising of any kind inside the widget.

›Which data source powers the forecast?

The aurora forecast uses the official NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center planetary K-index (current values and forecast). ISS pass times are computed from public two-line orbital elements (CelesTrak); rocket-launch times come from The Space Devs' Launch Library 2.

›Is it really free?

Yes — free for any website, commercial ones included. The only string attached is a small 'Powered by Cosmik' credit built into the widget itself.

›How do I change the city?

Swap the city slug in the iframe URL — e.g. /embed/aurora/oslo becomes /embed/aurora/jasper. It's the same slug used on that city's public forecast page.

›How often does it update?

Automatically. The card refreshes on a short server cache (roughly every 15–30 minutes) and always reflects the latest NOAA data — you never touch the embed code again.

›Will it slow down my page?

No. It loads lazily, weighs only a few kilobytes and runs entirely inside its own iframe, so it never blocks the rest of your page from loading.

›Can I change the size, colour or language — or add our branding?

Adjust the iframe width and height to fit your layout. For custom colours, your own logo, a 'Book your tour' button, a specific language, or removing the credit line, email hello@gocosmik.com — white-label branding is available for tourism boards and tour operators.
