How did the mission unfold?
After liftoff from SLC-4E, the Falcon 9 first stage burned for roughly two and a half minutes before main engine cutoff and stage separation. The booster then performed an entry burn and landing burn, returning for a droneship touchdown in the Pacific Ocean — the standard recovery profile for Vandenberg Starlink flights.
The second stage, powered by a single vacuum-optimized Merlin engine, continued to orbit and deployed the Starlink satellites roughly an hour after liftoff. Each first stage in the Block 5 fleet is designed for reuse across many flights, with individual boosters having flown well over 20 times, a cornerstone of SpaceX's cost-reduction strategy.
