What is the mission?
Themis is developed under ESA leadership with ArianeGroup and partners across Europe. The demonstrator is powered by the Prometheus engine, a low-cost, reusable liquid-oxygen/methane engine also designed by ArianeGroup. The T1H-1 hop is the initial step in a phased flight campaign: a short vertical ascent to modest altitude followed by a propulsive landing, validating the guidance, throttling, and landing-leg systems that a full reusable stage would need.
Why Esrange?
